About
Trevor James Hemmings CVO was born on the 11th June 1935 in Woolwich, London, and moved to Lancashire at the age of 5 during the Second World War. From his humble beginnings as a bricklayer, by the time of his passing on the 11th October 2021, he had a reputation as one of the countries most respected businessmen and had built a group of private businesses through his relentless energy and ethos of hard work.
Well known for owning Blackpool Tower, Preston North End and being a Grand National winning owner three times with three different horses, Trevor was also heavily involved in helping and supporting those less fortunate than himself and he was appointed Commander of the Royal Victorian Order (CVO) in the Queens 2011 Birthday Honours list for his service to charity.
Funded from the profits of group companies, The Trevor Hemmings Foundation (formerly the TJH Foundation) was set up in 1999 to carry out his philanthropic efforts making grants and donations in excess of £7m to hundreds of charities during his lifetime. The trustees look to continue his philanthropic endeavours.
